Participants will learn

Sewing skills; features of the machine, safety while sewing, tools for sewing, iron use & safety, measuring skills, understanding how a pattern is assembled and constructed into many projects including pants, pillows, and backpacks, etc… hemming, using elastic and drawstrings, appliqué techniques, quilt piecing techniques.

Learning the skill of sewing

Sewing is a self–esteem building activity, whereby participants learn the ingenuity of completing projects utilizing the hands-on skills mentioned above while incorporating their own personal creative touch and flair. They will complete a project in each session to bring home, having gained a great sense of accomplishment and joy!

What’s Included

Patterns of Joy - Provides all supplies, machines, materials for sewing lessons, and project options that are known to fit in the timeframe of average 2.5-hour lessons and workshops. Prices vary depending on group size, location and length of class, and complexity of project. Please contact us to consult about the variety of options.
